Beatriz, Class of 2024

Nationality: Brazilian/Italian

Sector: Finance

If you could relive one day in the MBA program (so far), what would it be?
I took the “Career Exploration” program to help define which path to take after the MBA. In this program, there was one session where we worked in small groups to help each other and contribute ideas. This was crucial, as I gained better self-knowledge when having to explain my career and life priorities to others. The feedback from the group was invaluable for me, as their “outsider” opinions helped me gain more clarity to organize and strategize my career plans.

Catherine, Class of 2024

HEC MBA Brand Ambassador VP, Lead – Social Media

Nationality: Chinese

Sector: L’Oreal and hoping to transition into Luxury

If you could relive one day in the MBA program (so far), what would it be?
I would really love to relive the day I met our cohort. The energy and diversity are proof that I made the right decision to take a pause from the career I love.

Caroline, Class of 2024

Nationality: Canadian/American

Sector: Advertising, and hoping to transition into Digital Marketing in Luxury

What achievement are you most proud of in your MBA journey?
I’ve been most proud of the personal reinvention that I’ve gone through thanks to HEC Paris. There have been as many times when I’ve felt out of my comfort zone as moments when I feel confident. I’ve expanded my professional horizons through taking a course on Circular Fashion & Web3, formed strong relationships with others from around the world, and have taken time to self-reflect on my priorities and values. Surrounding myself with the uplifting community here has made me even more appreciative of positivity and courage as strengths, outlooks I hope to bring with me post-MBA.

Cassandra, Class of 2024

Nationality: French/American

Sector: Advertising and hoping to transition into Strategy in Fast-Moving Consumer Goods or Tech

If you could relive one day in the MBA program (so far), what would it be?
I have really enjoyed all the simulations and seminars that have been a part of the HEC MBA curriculum, such as NegoSim and Giving and Receiving Feedback. They have been amazing opportunities to build relationships with and learn from my colleagues, in addition to fostering cross-cultural collaboration and teamwork. I would love to relive the positivity I felt working alongside brilliant people to collectively put forth our best effort and achieve a strong outcome!

Chandrakala, Class of 2024

Nationality: Indian

Sector: Tech and planning to return to Tech

If you could relive one day in the MBA program (so far), what would it be?
One of the most memorable days for me was the day I had the ‘Giving and Receiving Feedback’ session when, through discussions and reviews with the other participants, I had an epiphany about my priorities that made me rethink my career plan.

What 3 words would you use to describe the HEC Paris MBA community?
Diverse, Open-minded, Collaborative

Cheng Chun, Class of 2024

HEC MBA Brand Ambassador VP, Lead – Social Media

Nationality:
Taiwanese

Sector: Tech and planning to return to Tech

If you could relive one day in the MBA program (so far), what would it be?
The first day of my MBA program when everything was so new to me. I was so delighted to meet so many new friends from different countries and different backgrounds. This was also my first time in France. The culture shock and the beautiful views in Paris are precious memories that I will never forget!

Gilles, Class of 2024

Nationality: French/Israeli

Sector:
Tech and planning to return to Tech

If you could relive one day in the MBA program (so far), what would it be?

I usually enjoy business simulations and think they are a great way to experience and learn about different aspects of the business world. One of the most memorable experiences for me is the very first simulation we had when arriving – NegoSim. It gave us an opportunity to start getting to know each other and at the same time learn by doing, despite not yet having started any of the courses. I thought it was a lot of fun and I would gladly play again.

Ilya, Class of 2024

Nationality: Russian

Sector: Tech, Energy

What achievement are you most proud of in your MBA journey?
I’m proud of helping restore the HEC Blockchain Club and being actively involved in its development. With the future of the club secured, so is its networking, knowledge base, and expertise, making the HEC community a bit stronger, richer, and more diverse.

Jay, Class of 2023

Nationality: Taiwanese/American

Sector: Tech and planning to return to Tech

What achievement are you most proud of in your MBA journey?
One of the many reasons I chose HEC is its location, so that I can immerse myself in a different culture for personal growth alongside the professional growth that an MBA brings. That is why I am most proud of having advanced my French proficiency from Beginner to High intermediate in only a year! I have been taking advantage of HEC’s location in the Paris region, so I am most proud of fully leveraging what HEC has to offer for a cultural experience.

Marcelina, Class of 2023

Nationality: American

Sector: Fast-moving Consumer Goods but hoping to transition to Tech Scaleups/Startups

What achievement are you most proud of in your MBA journey?
I am most proud of leading the EPV Circle Association, the premier HEC student-led startup coaching program, as President. I was able to transform this 1-year-old club by introducing a more structured coaching program that included masterclasses taught by experienced students and support group sessions for the founders. Taking an idea and transforming it into a business is difficult on your own. I am proud to have been able to help students on campus achieve this and learn on the way.

Matthias, Class of 2024

Nationality: German

Sector: Management Consulting

If you could relive one day in the MBA program (so far), what would it be?
Our LATAM community organized a massive BBQ down at the HEC lake during one of the first weekends on campus. The weather was stunning, almost the entire cohort showed up, reggaeton music was blasting and the food – oh my god, the food! – was out of this world! (Shout out to Antonio, Paula and Valentin!). It was a great way to get to know everybody better, stuff our bellies with LATAM specialties and really kickstart the MBA experience. I remember not being hungry for 12 hours afterward, which, as a student, is the best feeling ever.

Mouphtaou, Class of 2024

HEC Brand Ambassador VP, Lead – Operation & Coordination

Nationality: Beninese

Sector: Entrepreneurship/Healthcare/Sports Management looking to transition into Finance

If you could relive one day in the MBA program (so far), what would it be?
I would choose to relive the Welcome Cocktail at the HEC Chateau because, looking back, it was a great moment to get to know my classmates. The excitement was high, and everyone was happy to share their experiences, backgrounds and how they arrived at the program. The energy I felt from being part of that environment left a positive impact on me. I am proud to be part of S22!

Nick, Class of 2024

Nationality: American

Sector: Sustainability

If you could relive one day in the MBA program (so far), what would it be?
I would really love to relive my first TEC session. Our small group and mentor formed a very deep bond very quickly, and the program has been the absolute highlight of my MBA.

Philippe, Class of 2024

Nationality: Canadian

Sector: Law but hoping to transition into Industry

What achievement are you most proud of in your MBA journey?
Being the COO of the MBAT organization team and having the opportunity to organize an event where I demonstrate school pride, showcase all the diverse folks that make up the HEC Paris MBA cohort, and bring together MBAs from all over the world.

Siddharth, Class of 2024

Nationality: Indian

Sector: Fast-moving Consumer Goods, E-commerce looking to switch to Consulting

If you could relive one day in the MBA program (so far), what would it be?
Integration weekend where the entire cohort had a day and a half to do team building exercises and socialize – which was crucial to how fast bonds were formed within the cohort, essential for a successful MBA.

What 3 words would you use to describe the HEC Paris MBA community?
Diverse, Empathetic, Risk Takers

Thiago, Class of 2023

Nationality: Brazilian/Swiss

Sector: Finance

If you could relive one day in the MBA program (so far), what would it be?
The Outdoor Leadership Seminar. It was something that I was looking forward to since I started applying for HEC and it exceeded my expectations. The immersive experience gives us the opportunity to lead, work in teams, compete and overcome challenges (as well as fears) and it was definitely a highlight of the program.

What achievement are you most proud of in your MBA journey?
Experience in public speaking is something that I lacked in previous professional roles and wanted to practice during the MBA. I remember being super nervous when presenting myself to be cohort representative in the first month of the program, but after that it became more natural as I practiced for academic and professional presentations, culminating in my involvement as an HEC MBA Ambassador.

Vincent, Class of 2024

Nationality: South African

Sector: Investment Management previously. Exploring FinTech, BigTech and Consulting

If you could relive one day in the MBA program (so far), what would it be?
19 January. On that day I had three really deep and reflective 1:1 catch-ups with friends in the cohort about the journey thus far, where we are in life, and thoughts on the future. I treasure relationships and being able to spend time with people. Learning more about others and providing advice, encouragement and celebration are things that bring me deep joy. To top it off, it snowed that day – one of my lifelong wishes came true! It doesn’t snow in South Africa so this was a moment to savor forever.

Yuanfang, Class of 2024

Nationality: Chinese

Sector: Fast-Moving Consumer Goods in Agri-food, Public Affairs, Consulting for Sino-French cooperation, hoping to transition to Renewable Energy

If you could relive one day in the MBA program (so far), what would it be?
It would be the first day of term 2. After the intense experience of term 1 and Christmas vacation, I felt totally integrated at HEC and I had a fresh view of everything.

What 3 words would you use to describe the HEC Paris MBA community?
Diverse, Inclusive, Excellent

Zhanara, Class of 2023

Nationality: Kazakh

Sector: I worked in Finance and Consulting and I am planning to transition to Tech or Fintech

If you could relive one day in the MBA program (so far), what would it be?
I have a clear recollection of my initial TEC session, where we connected with peers from our section. It was a moving experience as we opened up to each other and shared our personal life stories, which were often difficult and trying. This process brought us together as friends and fostered a secure atmosphere. Even now, as I near the end of my MBA journey, I continue to rely on the support of our TEC network.

What achievement are you most proud of in your MBA journey?
My proudest accomplishment was leading the French Connection club with an incredible team. Initially, I felt apprehensive because I lacked knowledge of French culture and was not French myself. Nevertheless, during our tenure, my team and I successfully revitalized the club, making it the most popular one on campus. Over four months, we organized 19 events that focused on Networking, Culture, and Language.
